Educational Enhancement for the field of Deaf Education

Since 2003 Deafed.net has been a place where Deaf educators and those that wish to work in the field of deaf education and related fields can connect using our database of job postings and resumes. We welcome you to the new up to date version of DeafEd.net.

The original deafed.net was over 15 years old and moving to our new environment may have some unexpected problems.  Please let us know if you notice any issues or have any comments :: Email us at admin@deafed.net.  Note for past users, your accounts and info is all there and your transition should be seamless. For more info visit our Jobs & Resumes page

Our vision is to continue offering a place for educators to post new job opportunities as well as offering a venue for news and information about the field of Deaf Education.

Hands & Voices believes a student’s success is directly related to their access to highly trained, specialized D/HH educators.  Hands & Voices has made an investment in creating a mechanism to connect D/HH educators to open positions in the field to ensure a child has the tools they need to reach their full potential.  H&V believes in the impact of D/HH Teacher preparation programs and the licensure of D/HH Teachers to meet the unique needs of D/HH learners.

According to the Council for Exceptional Children, credentialed teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing are critical to:

  • Providing appropriate evaluation
  • Effective educational programming and planning
  • Providing student-centered instruction in academic, linguistic, and social-emotional content
  • Meeting the requirements of IDEA [the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act] and ADA [the Americans with Disabilities Act]
  • Securing positive outcomes for students and schools
  • Providing specialized instruction and support to meet the specific language, communication, academic and social needs of students who are [deaf or hard of hearing].[i]
